Nelson Chandler represents clients in South Carolina state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. With a background in complex civil litigation, Nelson focuses on the active defense of claims on behalf of individuals, businesses, and insurers. His regular areas of practice include professional negligence, employment disputes, governmental liability, constitutional violations, and product liability. Nelson has briefed and argued cases before the appellate courts of South Carolina resulting in published opinions in favor of his clients, and he routinely handles appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Nelson was a partner in a regional firm prior to starting his own practice in 2010, and he acts as local counsel for out-of-state firms in a variety of civil matters. Nelson is a licensed Circuit Court mediator. He is rated as AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and currently serves on the Board of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
