Lindsey McClain Byrd
Attorney

Lindsey focuses her practice on the defense of employment and governmental liability claims.  An experienced trial attorney, Lindsey has logged countless hours in trial courts, first as an Assistant Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, then as the Deputy Prosecutor for the City of Charleston.  Lindsey also serves as a Municipal Court judge for the City of Charleston.  Originally from the Upstate, Lindsey graduated cum laude from Clemson University’s Honors College in 2005 with a BA in History.  Upon graduation from the Charleston School of Law in 2009, she served as law clerk for the Honorable Eugene C. Griffith in the Eighth Judicial Circuit.  Lindsey’s prior work as a municipal attorney included work in a wide range of areas, including law enforcement policies and procedures and civil liability.  Before joining Chandler & Dudgeon, Lindsey worked with a civil litigation firm handling personal injury, premises liability, and federal civil rights litigation.  During her career, she has volunteered as a mentor for new lawyers, provided CLE presentations to the Charleston Bar, and hosted participants in the Charleston School of Law Honors Summer Program and Externship Program. Lindsey is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in South Carolina.
